

Golden, Colorado is the county seat of Jefferson County and one of Colorado's oldest cities. Golden celebrated it’s 150th year in 2009. It came to life during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush era, and is the former territorial capital. Golden is 9 square miles of land lying along the eastern edge of the Front Range.
The 2005 census estimated our population at 17,366, with 6,877 households and 3,913 families.
Golden is part of the Jefferson County R-1 school district. The Colorado School of Mines, Colorado's oldest institution of higher education has a campus in the heart of the city.
